I have many fond memories of “The Tick” so when I saw this comic on the rack, I had to pick it up. I loved watching this cartoon. It was a “different” kind of humor. Although expensive ($3.95), it had all the classic humor to send one snorting.
Seems Tick has just defeated Satan (see issue #4 which I didn’t read) and has gotten himself a super-mentor. This mentor is all into marketing. Quite funny really. We get to see arthur all slimmed down and we even see the Tick’s childhood idol, the Sultan.
Like I said earlier, it’s a different kind of humor than one would normally encounter in a comic. The comic is expensive comparatively, almost a buck more. The art is typical of “the Tick” which means it is unique in its direction. All these factors lead me to give it a 3 out of 5. If you were a Tick fan back in the day then this one is definitely for you. If you weren’t then I would definitely see the cartoon that comes on at 11:00 PM Eastern Time on Toon Disney before buying this comic.
