Remember all that belly-aching about lack of backstory for KOTOR? Seems Dark Horse is trying to remedy that with the release of a combo issue of KOTOR #0 and a preview of Rebellion.

I give this combo issue a 4 out of 5 because it’s only twenty-five cents. Yes, you heard me right. twenty-five cents.

I wish they had featured a little more of the relationships between Zayne and the other padawan’s but the littl mini-story does help my hypothesis that Zayne is being manipulated into running. We shall see how it all pans out. They do introduce another Jedi, Squint. My hunch is that him and Zayne will meet up eventually and they will be enemies.

The Rebellion preview was more interesting IMHO. It helped tie up the ends of the Republic and Empire series and set the stage for the new series Rebellion. One thing that piqued my interest was the dual-use of different art styles. The Rebellion POV was one art style and the empire POV (ala Tank) was in a totally different style. I personally liked the second style better. The first style, all the characters looked like they had overbites. The second style loked more like cover art than actual page art. I hope they have more of it.

I give this combo issue a 4 out of 5 because it’s only twenty-five cents. Yes, you heard me right. twenty-five cents. Now if only all comics were this cheap ;)
