I haven’t visited G.I. Joe since the early 90’s so it surprised me that the comic books caught my eye when I was browsing the comic book rack here recently. I have fond memories of G.I. Joe so I picked this up on a whim.

The real reason I picked this issue up was they had a picture of the old school Storm Shadow on the cover. How cool is that? You open it up and the art is really good. The coloring is top notch.  Everything seems kosher right? Well, seems I caught the series in-between action sequences (ok, there is one short action sequence with some BATS but they don’t count).

I can summarize this issue up pretty bleakly. Someone died last issue saving the world. Everybody is whining because of it. Nobody can be consoled. People get in pissing matches because they don’t believe this character really died. Boo Hoo, Boo Hoo. My Wang is bigger than your Wang… etc etc. Everybody comes to their own grips with the unexpected death. Insert Cliffhanger here.

There you go. I saved you the three bucks. I don’t recommend this issue to jump back into the G.I. Joe realm unless you are already into this series or just like drama. Wait another issue or two and lets see if the action picks up. I rate this one a 2.5 out of 5. (.5 extra star because of the cover)
