Alpha Shade: Chapter One has one of the freshest stories and most unique and beutiful artwork in comics today! If you love great story telling and even better art, you must read this book.
I really can’t say enough good things about this book. What I can tell you is I would have read this book even without the incredible artwork. The story seems so fresh and new, but familiar at the same time. The art is very unique and has detail and gradients that can only be achieved through working digitally. Digital or pencil I would put Joe Budlos’s stuff up against anyones. His art has an anime flavor, but nothing overboard. What really makes the art stand out is the use of colors and gradients. If you are into great storytelling and eye candy pick this book up or ask your local comic shop to order it for you. I am going to get an interview with these guys so we can all find out more!
