Justice League Season One....What have you done to Superman!?
by: Average Joe 2 years, 6 months, 1 week, 5 days, 15 hours, 32 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewLong before the Watchtower was overpopulated with 900 (exaggerated) characters running around it, and long before they added the name “unlimited” (which pretty much describes the number of characters they’ve added to the new episodes, Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter and Superman were known as “The Justice League”.

Batman Beyond Season One....short and sweet
by: Average Joe 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 1 day, 19 hours, 46 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewUsually I am not a big fan of taking classic characters in a new direction. I hated it when they turned Superman into that absurd electric deal, I didn’t like when they started adding new members to the Fantastic Four, and I think the current “updated” look for Spider-Man is completely ridiculous. Basically I’ve always had the mentality “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. These characters have been around for so long because their creators discovered a formula for success and stuck with it.

Spider-Man Love Mary Jane #4
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 3 days, 21 hours, 36 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI need someone to tell me the point of taking a character who is already stretched too thin across genres, and try to turn him into the teenie-bopper heart-throb. This misses on several fronts. It misses rather sorely. With annoying ??will they, won??t they? nonsense it fails to even draw you in to a story you already know. The art isn??t bad, but it isn??t good. My advice is to take this one back to the drawing board.
Daredevil #83
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 3 days, 21 hours, 44 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThere is a really good story here. Daredevil is one of those character from whom we have grown to expect a dark storyline, and this one is no different. The narration is perfect, and the dialogue keeps up the pace. It has a great tempo, and a great feel to it. The art is dark, and hard, and fits the story just as it should. This one is a keeper.
She-Hulk #6
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 3 days, 21 hours, 55 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewInterestingly enough, as skeptical as I was about this one, it turned out to have a pretty good story. There isn??t too much to be taken seriously, and there is a soap opera going on in the background, but the quick wit dialogue was entertaining. They are definitely aiming this comic at the female audience and need to be careful not to miss their intended mark. It could be trying to appeal to a few to many people and draw none instead.
V for Vendetta also spells V for Victory
by: Average Joe 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 4 days, 9 hours, 27 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewLet me first start off by saying that I knew next to nothing about the story behind Alan Moore’s graphic novel “V for Vendetta”. In fact the only thing I did know was what the main character “V” looked like...err, what his mask looked like rather. Not really knowing anything wasn’t such a bad thing going into this movie because it meant my expectations wouldn’t be too high, and they wouldn’t be too low either. Now that I have sat thru the 2hr 30+ film all I can say is...WOW!

Ares #3
by: curvezilla 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 2 hours, 35 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI am way behind the curve as far as the story line goes. So I will just let you know what I think of this issue. The art is okay and the story didn’t have much substance. Again that could be because I am coming into the story midstream.
The Amazing Spiderman #530
by: curvezilla 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 2 hours, 39 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI will ask this question again. Why is Peter Parker playing underling to Tony Stark? Not only is he Tony’s errand boy, but they make Peter seem dumb. This is a guy who is supposed to be a serious genius. Anyway, they fix some issues with the costume in this book so that is a reason enough to buy it. Oh yeah, and it is the lead in to “Civil War”.
Storm #2
by: curvezilla 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 2 hours, 45 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThis book is really slow. I guess we are finally getting the definitive origin of storm but man is it boring. This whole six part series is a prelude to the “Wedding of The Century”, between Storm and Black Panther. I say skip the prelude and wait for the wedding.
The Incredible Hulk #93
by: curvezilla 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 3 hours, 18 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI have never been a big Hulk fan but this book was a lot of fun. Hulk was smashing everything in sight! So if you want some serious action then pick this book up. If you don’t care much for the hulk then skip it.
Captain America #16
by: curvezilla 2 years, 6 months, 2 weeks, 5 days, 3 hours, 23 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThis title is one of the very best that Marvel is producing today! I have been reading this book since issue #5 and it has been fantastic. The story line and writing are very good and and the art is spot on. If you haven’t read this book before give it a try.

Teen Titans: The Complete First Season....looking good so far
by: Average Joe 2 years, 6 months, 4 weeks, 1 day, 1 hour, 55 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewOn of WB/DC’s latest ventures into the world of animation “Teen Titans” brings us a new kind of superhero team, namely full of characters that aren’t even old enough to vote. Following the adventures of Starfire, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Raven, and the team’s leader Robin, “Teen Titans” offers a fresh new take on what was becoming a regular pattern for DC animated shows.
G.I. Joe: Special Missions #1: Manhattan
by: DarthMolen 2 years, 6 months, 4 weeks, 1 day, 6 hours, 47 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI loved G.I. Joe as a youngster. I had a good majority of the figurines and a lot of the vehicles to go with them. I picked up a couple G.I. Joe comics based upon that nostalgia. One of these was G.I. Joe Special Missions #1 where they heralded three whole stories on their cover.

G.I. Joe: America's Elite #8
by: DarthMolen 2 years, 7 months, 1 day, 21 hours, 20 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI haven’t visited G.I. Joe since the early 90’s so it surprised me that the comic books caught my eye when I was browsing the comic book rack here recently. I have fond memories of G.I. Joe so I picked this up on a whim.

Detective Comics #817
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 2 days, 21 hours, 11 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThis is the second “1 Year Later” book I have read and this one is a lot better than the Aquaman. It looks like DC may be trying to turn the corner away from all the darkness that has permeated their comics the last couple of years. I am hopeful we can get back to our hero’s being hero’s. The cover on this book is spectacular and the interior art is okay. Pick this book up on 3/8/06
Son of M #4
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 2 days, 22 hours, 25 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThis title is one that I didn’t think I was going to like but I started with #1 anyway. I figured Quicksilver had always been boring and whinny and maybe they would do something interesting. My hopes have been confirmed. If you have never seen Roy Allan Martinez’s pencils, then it’s another great reason to get this book. This guy has skills! This book may be the best thing to come out of The House of M. Find back issues at your comic shop and get caught up!
New X-Men #24
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 2 days, 23 hours, 13 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewYeah it’s good and still getting better. I really like Paco Medina’s pencils, but it’s Brian Reber’s colors that make them really pop. Great story that is leading up to some big stuff in the X-Men world. This is a title you should be reading!
Aquaman Sword of Atlantis #40
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 2 days, 23 hours, 18 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewIt’s “1 Year Later” and I don’t know what the heck is going on. Aquaman doesn’t know what’s going on either. I could see myself reading one or two more issues to see if it gets better. So for now I will give it a tentative buy rating. Release date 3/8/06

American Virgin #1
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 3 days, 19 hours, 55 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewGraphic Content: Language
This story is nothing special. The story is centered around saving yourself for marriage. The main character experiences a severe trauma at the end of the book which you can tell is leading to him taking a much darker path. I give this book a thumbs down. Release date 3/8/06
Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi #2
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 7 months, 3 days, 19 hours, 55 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewAn absolute masterpiece! Astounding in every category . . . sorry I was talking about the last comic I previewed. As for this one. . . Are you kidding me? I can’t even begin to relate to the demographic that this comic is trying to reach. I have to assume that they are different from me in every way, and therefore will love this. I can honestly say that it is thematically consistant across all disciplines. . . simple. It is light and easy, with little to challenge a younger reader. It would certainly be safe for little kids. I don’t really picture a die hard comic fan picking this one up.
The Pulse #14
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 7 months, 3 days, 20 hours, 2 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI am sure that on some deeper level this was a very artistic and sensitive story, however, out of all of the reasons why I read comics, this one had none of them. The story was simple and uninteresting, the dialogue was longwinded, and I kept waiting for all of this to matter. . . it never did. The look of the art was much to dark for the theme of the story, and really didn’t make sense. Wait for the next issue, you won’t miss a thing.
Sentinel Squad O.N.E. #3
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 3 days, 20 hours, 23 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThe only good thing about this series is that Marvel has given the Sentinel personality. Now they did stick human pilots in the Sentinel to do it, but hey it works. You can take this book or leave it. I would leave it. Marvel should be more focused on quality and not quantity. Release date 3/8/06
Fables #47
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 3 days, 20 hours, 43 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThis is the very first time I have ever picked up this book. It has a great idea of taking fables and putting a spin on them. If you like fantasy and good old fashioned story telling then this book is for you. The art is adequate but nothing special. Release date 3/8/06
Cable & Deadpool #26
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 3 days, 20 hours, 48 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI really like this book. I have been reading it since issue #1 and I think it has the right mix of action and humor. The way Deadpool is portrayed is dead on (no pun intended), but I am not so keen on Cable. He just seems completely disconnected from any reality or past versions of his character. I enjoyed the flashbacks in the issue to Cable fighting with En Sabah Nur. This book is a BUY!
Captain Atom #6
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 7 months, 4 days, 6 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewI really liked the story in this one. There was enough action to keep me entertained, with enough plot twists, and unknowns to keep me interested. The dialogue and narration changed in tempo regularly to match the characters. All in all it was well written. The art was clean but uninteresting. It didn’t suck me into their world, but didn’t distract me either.

K.O.T.O.R. #2
by: DarthMolen 2 years, 7 months, 4 days, 21 hours, 37 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewK.O.T.O.R. #2 manages to satisfy on so many levels yet they still can’t make a decent cover (although its ironic that the person doing the internal art also did the cover). Zayne is in trouble yet again and the mystery keeps getting thicker. Read on for review and images.

Tom Strong #36
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 7 months, 5 days, 12 hours, 23 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThis is not what I expected out of something with “the end of the world” in the title. The story gets a little complicated as personality after personality strolls in and out of the scene. Any cohesiveness is found in the constant stream of end-of-the-world philosophies. The art is excellent and shifts tones separating it into three separate stories. I wasn’t angry that I read it, but might not rush out to the news stands in fear it would sell out.
X-Men 198 #3
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 5 days, 12 hours, 33 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewYou have got to be kidding me! Where in the heck are they taking my comics? You can’t get any more depressing than this issue. With the mutants interned and all the stuff that is going on they had to add drug dealing and abuse to the already dreary situation. Art is good and the story will play a big part in the plight of our “Not So Merry Mutants”. Buy the book, then write a letter to Marvel asking for some better times. Release date 3/8/06
The Exterminators #3
by: curvezilla 2 years, 7 months, 5 days, 12 hours, 57 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewGraphic Content: Language, Nudity
This comic is NOT for kids or probably even teens. If you don’t fall into that category you should be buying this book. The pencils are awesome and just keep getting better. Tony Moore is one of the best artists in comics today and does not disappoint in this book. Simon Oliver can really tell a story and has a ton of dialogue. If you can get over the overt political references then you will enjoy this book.
Firestorm #23
by: M.C. Harmon 2 years, 7 months, 5 days, 13 hours, 4 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewThere was a good story here, with several good pace changes to keep things interesting. No matter how much you know, there is still a little bit to keep you guessing. Multiple offscreen speakers in each frame gets a little heavy and the dialogue is seems incomlete, but it does little to distract from the story which is almost completely told by the color. It is a worthwhile read. Release date 3/8/06

Obi-Wan Transformer
by: DarthMolen 2 years, 7 months, 6 days, 13 hours, 49 minutes ago
Email Review print reviewWhen I set out to review the Obi-Wan transformer, I wasn’t expecting much. The preview pictures didn’t look promising. I pulled out the package and after going through the motions and seeing him next to the Vader transformer, I was mildly suprised. Read on for the full review.
