HarperKids have announced that Boyd Kirkland and Steven E. Gordon will be working on a series of books aimed at the younger X-fans.

Along with the obvious merchandise being released later this year (toys, games, clothing...etc) HarperKids have announced that Boyd Kirkland and Steven E. Gordon will be working on a series of books aimed at the younger X-fans.

Fans of the series “X-Men Evolution” that ran for 4 seasons on Kids WB! will remember Kirkland and Gordon from their prior work on the show.

"I’m doing illustrations for a couple of their early reader books for children based on the movie, following character designs by Steve Gordon," said Kirkland, who was a producer, writer and director on X-Men: Evolution.

Kirkland worked on X-Men 3: Rogue Finds a Home and X-Men 3: Teaming Up. While Gordon, who designed most of the characters from X-Men: Evolution, and did designs for the Marvel direct-to-DVD feature Ultimate Avengers worked on X-Men 3: Meet the X-Men, X-Men 3: Beast Chooses Sides and X-Men 3: Coloring and Activity Book and Crayons.

Both books were written by Harry Lime and Catherine Hapka, and all covers were done by Gordon.
