Shia LaBeouf to Star in Transformers?

IGNFilmforce confirms that actor Shia LaBeouf (I Robot, Constantine, Even Stevens) is in talks to star in the upcoming live action “Transformers” film from Paramount. The article mentions that LaBeouf is up for the role of Sam, and also mentions the other human characters that will appear in the film.

Sam - teenage male, somewhat nerdy, but ultimately heroic.

Miguela Barns - teenage female, Sam’s love interest.

Cpt William Lennicks - 30s male, leader of the military.

Maggie - female, really hot, really smart, works as a codebreaker for the government.

John Kellar - 50’s/60’s male, US Secretary of State.

Glen Whitman - 20’s male, technogeek, comic relief.

Transformers is currently scheduled for a July 4th 2007 release.

Wow, didn’t realize this was going to be live action.  I’m assuming a boatload of CGI!

Well unless you know of any 50ft alien-robots that can transform into different vehicles, I’m pretty sure your assumption is correct about the CGI.

It said live action. It will probably be a little of column A, little of column B.
