Sean Salmon Recovered from KO

Sean Salmon, along with Rashad Evans, was the headline for UFC Fight Night 8 January 25th. Despite his success in the first round, The fight didn’t go too well for him and he managed to eat Rashad Evan’s foot in the second round and then fell to the canvas convulsing and unconscious.

His status was unknown to the general public because Spike almost immediately cut to commercials then went to Pro’s vs. Joe’s because the UFN timeslot was over. We now know that he is fine and well and only has a bruised ego and a slight headache to remind him of the experience (and probably a foot taste in his mouth from eating that kick).

UFCJunkie was one of his sponsors and Sean blogged what his fight day was like on the site. Very good read to say the least if you are in any way interested in what a fighter experiences before he enters a ring.

Any knockout is serious but that knockout was clean yet scary because he went down convulsing.

There’s a lot of buzz on the Internet about how “disrespectful” the UFC was by not alerting its fan to the condition of the fighter and going on with the post-fight interview…

I don’t agree. Although I think that a status of the fighter should be given after the interview to make sure he is all right and something should be posted on the main site if it’s not possible to give updates on live TV…

Live TV is rough and there is a time schedule and sometimes that time schedule doesn’t jibe with what should morally be done.
