USA Today has posted a new article on director Jon Favreau’s upcoming Iron Man currently in production. The article features a new image of Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark forging his “Mark 1” Iron Man armor.
"We didn’t want to just go with a safe choice," Favreau says from the set of the film, due in theaters May 2, 2008. "The best and worst moments of Robert’s life have been in the public eye. He had to find an inner balance to overcome obstacles that went far beyond his career. That’s Tony Stark. Robert brings a depth that goes beyond a comic-book character who is having trouble in high school, or can’t get the girl. Plus, he’s simply one of the best actors around."

Downey looks pretty jacked up for his role as Stark. Good for him, he’s an amazing actor that’s had a couple of bad spots in his life. I have no doubts he’ll bring the character of Tony Stark/Iron man to life for us.
Downey is very talented as an actor and hopefully, for his sake, he will continue to stay well and live his real life so he can display his talent on movie screens.
