McKellen to don the helmet one more time

A scooper for Superherohype! sends in a report in which he says that Sir Ian McKellen is confirmed for the Magneto prequel, and also says that the Silver Surfer will in fact appear in Fantastic Four 2.
I didn’t know if you were interested but I can confirm that Ian McKellen will be playing Magneto in the prequel. I was told this by John Bruno at a screening of X3. The company who worked on X3 to deage them is also going to be doing the Mags prequel. According to John, Ian is really excited.
I was lucky enough to spend nearly 2 hrs alone with him asking all sorts of stuff… by the way Silver Surfer is also in FF2.

Please let there be better story development in the Magneto Prequel.... One of the most wrenching scenes in all the X-Men comics was the scene where they showed him being ripped away from his parents and then being buried alive with all the people and having to claw his way out.
I want that kind of gut-wrenching story telling and not some freakin catwoman wannabe crap movie but with Magneto’s name on it.
I think McKellen has enough respect for himself as an actor, and for the character of Magneto that he wouldn’t agree to star in a film of “Catwoman calibur”...or lack thereof.
I really like McKellen as Magneto, he is an amazing actor and despite not looking exactly like his comic counterpart (how many older men do you know that really look like that??) he NAILS the character.
After seeing how they made him younger in “X3” I have no doubts he can pull this off.
