How do you become a SuperHero, that can teleport and stop time, on a hit T.V. show?  It is easy, start with an Ivy League education…

John Gaudiosi at WIRED says there is more to HIRO then meets the eye.

Millions of viewers of NBC’s Heroes know actor Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura, the bored young Japanese office worker who discovers he has the power to alter time and teleport. What they probably don’t know is that he’s been working behind the scenes for years as one of Industrial Light & Magic’s top programmers.

In an ensemble cast that features solid acting all around, Oka steals the show every time he’s on the screen. The show literally has his Hiro living out the exploits of his own comic book, 9th Wonders...

Almost everyone feels a connection with the young actor when he appears on the screen but his talents sure seem to run deeper then a nice camera presence. This a guy who has really worked at his craft, paid his dues and is still looking to do more.

Hiro is very funny on the show.  I really like his character.

Yeah know I saw him pop up yesterday on an old episode of Scrubs. He has a bit part through out the series as the Asian doctor.
The joke went:
Janitor: (Doing Crossword puzzle) What is a five letter word for “blank” in ones armor?

JD: Chink…

Janitor: What was that?

JD: Chink!

Janitor: Huh (behind the janitor was Masi Oka)

Masi: I always suspected…

JD: No, wait…
Rest of the episode was JD getting stares and pushed around from the Asian community at the hospital. Anyway there HE (Masi Oka) was.  Anyone else have a sighting?

Nope. But I love his wide eye approach to his character…

I am thinking at some point, one or more of the Heroes will die but if they are smart, it won’t be Hiro. His power is the one that can make and remake everyone have a second, third and on and on chance to do the right thing.

Ahem...Begin rant.

O please let it be Hiro that dies.  You know why everybody likes him.  He stole his style that’s why!! Bumbling Asian actor who always has a smile on his face?  Getting himself into crazy situations seemingly by accident?  Remind you of anybody?  Jackie Chan thats who!! Look at me I’m Masi Oka I worked hard on my craft!! I watch 10 hours of Jackie Chan movies.  Call me a Genius right now and sing my praises.
Now don’t get me wrong...future Hero was pretty cool.  Black leather outfit sword on back...nope doesn’t remind me of anybody...Except Blade!!  Next Hiro will come back from the future wearing a black shades on his facing looking for Sarah Conner and trying to run for Governor. of California.  The show is okay but runs along the themes of Lost and 24 hr to me.  Whatever happened to the good old shows that solved all the problems in 1 hour.
Sure millions of people seem to disagree with me.  But that doesn’t mean I’m wrong.  I predict three season for this show tops.  America will get bored of this type of Television within that time. Mark my words.

End Rant

P.S More Ali Larder less Bumbling smiley Japanese dudes.

An actor run for political office and wins in California? Next thing you will be trying to tell us is someone from the WWF could be a governor. What kind of crazy sci-fi is that? ;-)

I agree that MORE Ali Larter is a good thing though. She is the real comic type hero because she will kick you around the room and look good doing it.

I still like Hiro and he is cool.
