Liddell vs. Rampage 2 - UFC 71 May 26

Email Article Print ArticleSherdog has broken the news that Rampage will be fighting Liddell sooner rather than later.
It was rumored for a long time that Quinton “Rampage” Jackson wanted another tune-up bout before fighting Liddell. However, Quinton’s trainer, Juanito Ibarra, has broken the silence and told Sherdog that his client will be foregoing the tune-up match and fighting Liddell next at UFC 71 which is scheduled for May 26, 2007.
Liddell last faced Rampage in 2003 in a PRIDE semi-final and lost pretty badly to the well rounded fighter. Now he gets his long awaited rematch 4 years later. The announcement should be official tomorrow from the UFC.
Last time they fought Rampage dished out an ass beating the likes of which Liddell had never seen so it’ll be interesting to see whether or not he can do it again. He’s got A LOT to live up to, and Liddell is going to be out for blood.
If anyone can end Liddell’s title reign it’ll be Rampage, and who knows maybe Liddell will move up to Heavyweight and take on Couture and Cro Cop.
