John Favreau has found his Iron Man!

AICN.com reports that director John Favreau has made his first official casting decision for the lead role of Tony Start a.k.a Iron Man in the big budget film of the same name. After months of speculation as to whether or not it would be an unknown, or a known Hollywood star, all rumors can be finally put to rest now that an official announcement has been made.
In a bit of casting that NO ONE expected it’s now official ROBERT DOWNEY JR. is Iron Man!
Based upon Marvel’s iconic Super Hero, the film will follow billionaire weapons-manufacturer, Tony Stark (Downey Jr.), who confronts the sins of his past after he is injured by one of his own weapons. Equipped with a high-tech suit of armor, he becomes Iron Man to combat evil on a global scale.
Iron Man will hit theaters on May 2nd, 2008.
I actually think Downey is a good choice. Sure he’s not what most people expected, but he’s always done solid work and even during his dark days delivered beyond most people’s expectations.
Now we should be hearing more casting in the coming weeks.
He is perfect for a depressed alcoholic drunk Tony Stark. He won’t have to do that much acting
If they read this then we’ll never get an interview.
Sadly, many of us do know him more for his widely published personal issues but there is no denying the man’s talent. When he brings his “A” game, you forget who he is because he becomes the character.
Hopefully, this movie will let him showcase his amazing acting ability.
Let’s just hope we’re not seeing the headline “Judge lets Downey Jr. out of iron bars for Iron Man premeire” in the future
