For an industry struggling to translate the box office numbers of comic book movies into new readers of the source material they’re based on, it could be a new means to reach a youth culture that spends a lot of time playing video games and using cell phones.
"Technology is going towards your pocket - literally,” said Fahim Niaz, a product manager at e frontier, a Japanese software company that works with manga companies. “The revolution started with the ipod and the video iPod. It’s only a natural progression that you’ll see that in comic books."

I can see this pocket tech reaching out to folks who have to have the latest in tech. There may also be a 3 year old who will, one day, buy all his comics on his phone and wonder why his Dad bothered with paper.
Of course, a lot of good tech began quickly and disappeared just as quickly.
