The PS3 has Blu-Ray built in, the 360 has a normal DVD drive. Sony seems to think that Blu-Ray is necessary for games and is using the PS3 as a way to get the Blu-Ray player into homes.
Well, in mid-november be ready for the 360’s new edition to the family. The low priced $199 HD-DVD player. When you add it all up, the price of the premium 360 with the HD-DVD player is the same as the PS3. But with us Microsoft lovers, it’s totally an option. No games will be released requiring the use of an HD-DVD drive, it will be used strictly for movies.
As a free gift, a purchase of the 360’s HD-DVD player will include a copy of Peter Jackson’s King Kong. So without that many movies out for the format, atleast you’ll be able to watch something.

I think I will keep my $199 and just watch King Kong in low def
Seriously. HD DVD’s are such an effin waste of time it’s ridiculous. I can’t believe they’re actually continuing this like it’s the next step in media evolution.
