FIRST LOOK: X3 Video Game Screens and Info

With the upcoming release of the third (and possibly final) installment of the popular X-Men franchise you can expect another marketing onslaught complete with toys, clothing, fast food items and of course....video games. Activision has once again geared up yet another Marvel/X-Men game that will be released in May to coincide with the release of the film, and we’ve got the first pictures from the latest issue of GameInformer.

Apparently the game is more of an X-Men 2.5 since it takes place right after the events of “X2”, and before the events that will unfold in “X3”. During the course of the game we will learn why Nightcrawler will not appear in the latest film as well as a few other questions that were left unanswered.

I’ll save you guys the trouble of reading that small print and post some key points from the article…

-Gamers will only be able to play as 3 X-Men: Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Iceman.

-The game’s story will be written by legendary X-Men writer Chris Clairemont.

-Part of the game’s focus is to help rebuild Cerebro.

-Lady Deathstrike was NOT killed in X2 and will return to battle Wolverine in the game.

-Alkali Lake will serve as the game’s introductory level.

-Colossus will make an appearance, but will NOT be a playable character.

“X3” (tentative title) will be released in May for PS2/XBOX/XBOX360/Gamecube/PC/PSP
