Thirteen. Unlucky for some, as they say, and never more so than for the protagonist of XIII Covert Identity whose identity is so secret even he doesn’t know who he is.

Based on the XIII franchise launched on home consoles during the PS2 era, XIII Covert Identity is an espionage thrillfest with some to-die-for comic book stylised visuals. Based on the screenshots, it looks as though the game takes place as an action platformer with plenty of impromptu vehicle usage throughout.

You’re able to travel on foot, on a plane, on a yacht and a jet-ski around locations such as Mexico and New York. Of course, expect hordes of nameless henchmen to dispatch and for that you need to make good use of the Uzi (in double and single inclusion), grenade launcher and pump action shotgun that make up the game’s arsenal.

Sounds like fun and with 14 levels to play through as one of two characters (the other described only as the “lovely Jessica") XIII Covert Identity could be a blast.

The game is available now from Gameloft’s site.

I freaked and left her there, only to spend the rest of the night looking for the “guy” that attacked the girl I was dating.  We never found that guy, but not only did I get to laughy ass off I got to play the hero in the end...and really isn’t that all a sidekick truly wants.

When you’re low on health and about to come up against a group of enemies, don’t forget you can go back to pick up health packs. It’s also sometimes worth going back for weapons if you’re stuck with no ammo and a lot of enemies to kill.
