New laptop...check

Fully charged digi-cam...check

One day pass to the world’s largest Comic and Entertainment expo...oh you know thats a check!

Since I am not too sure how snapping through the ethereal void will affect my most sensitive electronics, and frankly, I just barely manage to do it without losing my clothes to begin with.  I am packing up the Black Freighter-mini with all of the gadgets I’m sure I will need for the day at COMIC-CON.  I am heading out from Bamf HQ just before the sun dare peaks its head over the eastern sky.  My sources at the local comic shop tell me to dust off my Iron Man ware and get ready for some punishment from the masses.  Since the registration act requires an actual address, one I do not have as HQ sits on a rocky precipice overlooking the sea of elucidation, Stark and I are kind of on the outs and the armor might make me a bit stand-outish (and hey, the void HQ has the bonus of never having to shred Credit Card offers from B of A!).  So instead I am going low key wearing a Boondocks shirt, some shorts and a decent pair of walking shoes. 

It is my intention to make Saturday a day of firsts.  This being my fist chance to attend the CC, I am going to exploit the experience as much as possible.  I will be attempting to bring you updates, quick bits as I can be it photos or one liners via the twitter badge at the bottom of the page.  There are various hot-spots I have already scouted, so when I need a moment’s respite, I will do my best to get this post updated with pics.  Otherwise you can follow my day using the aforementioned badge.

So, what panels am I going to go for?  Heroes season II for starts, though I may get so caught up in the place I might not make it in as this is the big event for the day, and I hear Playboy is waiting in the wings to snatch Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere) to perform some Haitian mind wipe after she signs a exclusive three page spread for her 18th birthday.  Maybe not.  But considering the quote she gave in Wizard this month in regards to her having to lie on a cold metal table in her Bra and Panties all day, the girl knows how to drive the boys crazy...and tune in.  DCU: New World Order conflicts with Heroes, so I may just go for that as they give recaps of the weekly books I have been already reading, but who knows?  I am definitely camping out for the Futurama as well as The Film Crew (MST3k reunites!)panels respectively.  And depending on the breaks, looking for the Columbia presentation (Superbad), Marvel Studios (Iron Man tease?), and a stop off at the Smallville panel where I would like to demand every 44 minutes of my time wasted since season 3, ya I know, so why do I keep watching right?  The late night panel I am on the fence for is the 10th anniversary of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, not sure I can handle a collective sing along of “Let me rest in Peace”. 

It is sure to be a day full of surprises, blisters, and open mouthed stares.  Since 2000 I have sat at work on my computer, 3000 miles away reading any update I can, this year, I get the opportunity to bring it to you. Keep checking in here at Komikazee to follow my day at the con.
