It seems to me that the Batman comics are just excellent lately. Nothing exemplifies this more than Batman: Year 100. It’s a mystery, which should be at the heart of every Batman book. That is, the story is a mystery that Batman has to solve, and Batman himself is a mystery to the readers.

What does everyone else think?

Tell me more about the premise of the book.  My guy at the comic shop told be it wasn’t that good, but he has been known to be wrong (Techno Priests!!).

Batman: Year 100 is an elseworlds comic by Paul Pope (THB, 100%).  It is set 100 years after the Batman’s first appereance in the 30s and basically a myth.  Somewhat totalitarian gov’t with feds riding Gordon’s ass and tracing down the Batman.  There is a murder that must be solve and our detective is on the run because he was seen.

Paul Pope makes Batman much more human and resembles the golden age version.  He is seen running with a bullet wound(sp?) on his side and beings chased by dogs.

The art and story are great in my opinion, so I don’t know how other people will feel.

The second part just came out yesterday, and we gain a bit more insight into the characters, and the mystery, but there is still a lot left unanswered.

I hate to be a party pooper, but I just could not get into this book.  I usually like Batman stories and elsewords stories.  I just could nto get into this one.  Sorry.

I love not being a party pooper i love this book im really looking foward to see how it ends. i honestly think this will be one of those batman books that will be looked back years from now even though it is just a like it or not kinda book.
