Anyway, on to Supermarket. I find that the first issue of Supermarket may be the best example of a first issue of a comic I have ever seen, outside of DMZ. Although, this is not suprising since it is the same author writing both comics. It is an entertaining comic with a great set up for the rest of the series. It has a twist near the end that comes out of nowhere and it seems like the rest of the series will be an excellent study of how someone raised in a very heavy consumer culture can react when they don’t have a credit card.

I just read a preview copy of DMZ #5, well I guess it came out yesterday, anyway I really liked it.  Now I need to get the previous 4 issues.  I will pickup this Supermarket book and give it a whirl too.

Both of these books have some very interesting social commentary without slapping you in the face with it.
