Those of you that have old issues of Grant Morrison’s 1988-1990 run on Animal Man should go back and look at issue #18 and the peyote induced visions of the next ‘crisis’ Animal Man has.  (as in Infinite Crisis ?) Specifically look at the cave painting on the wall behind him.

In Issues 23 and 24 Morrison reintroduces the Psycho-Pirate, who had last been seen in Arkham Asylum at the end of Crisis on Infinite Earths. Psycho-Pirate is the only character alive who remembered the Infinite Earth’s Crisis and the destruction of a multiverse of characters and universes.

And of course in the current Infinite Crisis Animal Man is recruited by Donna Troy....
Pretty interesting stuff.

I remebered reading somewhere that in the post-Morrison run, Animal Man was actually in a coma and just woken up.  This basically retconned the run-in with Psycho Pirate and his meeting with Grant Morrison as just a dream.  I don’t know if this is true or not so someone who actually read those issues will clear that up.
