Returning Player; New to the Dallas Scene

A few questions…

1) Which MGC location is the best, in your personal opinion? Plano or McKinney. Both are 20 minutes from me.

2) Before I ask this question, keep in mind that I understand where I’m asking this. Is MGC the best, and most active, CCG (I use CCG instead of MtG because I wouldn’t mind getting into VS maybe and I also have cards from other sets (Battletech, Star Trek, Star Wars, Yu-Gi-Oh) that I wouldn’t mind playing if other people have them too) meeting place?

.

So far, the only time I’ve played MtG out here in Dallas has been at A-Kon 16 where MGC had a tournament going on. This is why I’m starting with you guys, because I figure if you’re big enough to get a tournament at a convetion, you should be big enough to corner the market on active players in an area.

I’m wanting to be able to go to one location that regularly has people playing, no matter the day of the week. I know about FNM, but sometimes I just can’t get there because of work. Like, for example, I may not be able to get there tomorrow night but I sure as heck can come over tonight for a few games if anyone else is there.

Plano. Mckinney is closing and Plano just expanded.

And a lot of people play MtG at Plano. Not much Pokemon or YuGiOh playing here. later.

Love,
Matt

Thanks :)

Anyone else want to toss in some thoughts? Specifically now, how MGC may rate against other locations in Dallas.

Madness has a great group of regulars, great deals on packs, limited events as well as FNM, and soon to have singles and more room.

Love,
Matt

The moderators won’t let us put in lines about other comic shops on the boards ... so I can’t give an unbiased comment on your question :P

I hope it’s true that every snowflake is unique, because I never want to see one like this again.

Agreed - and I don’t think any store is big enough to corner the market on active players in the area…

just my humble opinion…

Plano does have a GREAT group of regulars, and great deals, etc. as was posted earlier; However, I just wanted to reinforce that statement, and would LOVE to meet a new/returning player to MTG.
I strive to be there on most FNM nights, I’m the guy who is known for playing wonky decks that seem to somehow work… maybe not Tier 1, but tier 2 at least :)
You’ll know me when you see me, or if you see a guy going by the name of “Hunter” (I’m the taller one of the two “Hunter’s” that show up… and about 6 years older…
Be glad to meet you and help introduce you to our environment.

Borrow money from pessimists - they don’t expect it back

Kessel and Delger both love playing ‘wonky’ decks.  And they do sometimes work, that makes things more fun.

HEY! That deck was fun… :) I’ll bring it back next time I go up there again… tweaked a bit… of course… can’t play the same deck twice!

Part of the change to Komikazee is that while we will still strive to keep these boards positive and/or constructive, you may discuss any store, local, distant or online, that you wish.  My only request is that it not get into flaming, or otherwise personal attacks.

I’ve been to almost all of the cardshops in texas, and i’ve yet to find one as good as Madness. Good Deals, Nice ppl, Balance of great-good-meh players, Good enviroment, and a fun place to be. I want to make it into plano soon, i’ve not played there in forever.

Wow, thanks!
