So I just read Fichtel’s post where it says someone jacked a Godless Shrine and a textless Putrefy.  No good. 

Now, I add myself to the unfortunate victim of thievery, and this might just have put me out of the game for good.  I got my black metal Rook box (the one that normally holds 4 decks in it) stolen, which contained my Battle of Wits deck, and my Red/Green deck.  I’m putting a list here with everything of value, just so in the rare instance that one of you all sees someone who has vastly improved their collection, you might let me know so I can investigate.  I’ll also include a list of possibly recognizable cards, so if you recognize those and could let me know, that would be great also.  Also, if the thief is REALLY stupid, I’ll just throw this out there.  If you see someone playing a BoW deck with orange sleeves, or a RG deck with brown sleeves, it’s probably mine.

So yeah, I had just finished my sets of all the t2 duals so far, and then three playsets vanish, just like that.  Good times. 

So the unique cards would be - Asian Char, FOIL Char, Kird Apes, Portal Wraths, Battle of Wits, and FOIL Tendo. 

Any help would be immensely appreciated.  I’ll probably give it a week to show up, just in the interest of optimism, but I’ll probably call the police department today, just to see if there’s any point in my filing a report.  By my count, the cards of value total around $650.

Again, any help would be appreciated.  I’ll also be calling around to all the local stores, if they happen to see anything suspicious (like someone with a black metal deck box holder, but only one deckbox to go in it.)

I think I’m just going to have to stop bringing trade stuff with me.  Or at least only bring one deck at a time.  Man, I’m so sorry Blake.  I thought losing Gifts was bad, but having someone steal a BoW deck is just plain retarded.  I hope whoever it is gets caught.

Blake, that’s about the worst thing I’ve heard of.  This is getting to the point where you can’t set anything down or leave it out of your site for a moment.  Sad when you can’t trust other magic players, guess some think its all about winning and getting the cards.

i understand completely, i was a gencon and had a ton of stuff, stolen. I knew who did it and couldn’t get security to do anything about it, its sad what kind of people are coming into this game :(

Wow, wish I was there to help look out for your cards. That really stinks.

What would be the legality if we found the person who stole the cards. Would police be able to get them back or are they pretty much gone because it would be so hard proving it?

i assume its pretty much impossible, mainly because i had 4 different dealers say that he was trying to sell the cards i named, he had the cards, and we got to watch him walk out the door.

Hey Blake, it could be coencidence but i figured i would tell ya anyway,

I had lost one of my matches pretty fast (as was the theme of my entire night last night) and was watching other people play, and there was a short, bigger girl, i believe by the name of sarah playing a blue control deck with both a russian and a textless mana leak in the hand she had at the time. I wanted to compliment her on the unusual cards, but didn’t cause i didn’t want her opponent to know, but I notice that those cards were in your BoW deck. It could be a coencidence, or not, but its just a little heads up for you.

Well, I’ve narrowed down MY theif to one of three people, because only 3 looked at my binder all night. I ususally do a great job of watching my cards, but the three ALL wanted to trade at teh same time and all dropped their binders in front of me, so it was kinda fishy, even though after about 30 seconds i told them ‘one at a time’.

I always keep my stuff in that big backpack and my binder on my shoulder. but yeah, BAD times.
