yeah, so what i did is made a new name (i added a “t") and registered and such, and everything was fine. It was retarded that all the names went over, cuz now we can’t use them, but whatever.

I had 2 cards taken from me tonight at the draft… Textless Putrefy and Godless Shrine. yeahhh. no bueno.

i’m hoping they can fix the problems, if not, ill make a new screen name. I can’t believe there was another theft this week… we all need to help each other keep an eye out. What I’ve liked about madness so far, even though i’ve only recently started attending regularly is that the people are all great and from what i can tell pretty honest, it really sucks that there are people out there throwing some shade into that light.

I’m way too much of a fan of Open Source not to point this out. Why would you want to pay $100 for the liscence of this engine when you can use phpBB or vBullentin for free? With great customization, that has been tried and true across many sites, not to mention the familiarity of it, threre really is none. So far I haven’t seen a feature that this has over it, and I’ve only seen the constant problems of not being able to access things when I’ve been it should be working.

I’m a fan of open source, too and under the hood, EE uses MySql and php.  You’re right that phpBB and vBulletin both have more features than ExpressionEngine, however they don’t integrate well with our main site features: news, reviews, and commentary (as well as some other projects in the works).  We went with EE because we felt it has the right feature set without including a lot of bells and whistles most people end up stepping over.

Most of the problems the users from Madness are having aren’t due to EE’s feature set but rather from the import we did from the old forums, so blame our own user error, not the product .  We would have had similar issues going between any two systems.

We’re still working on Madness user permissions.  It’s gotta be something simple in the db that we just haven’t uncovered.  You may register as a new user if you want instant access.  Send me an email or a PM if you want me to delete your Madness account so that you can register with the same name.

OK. We fixed the bug that wasn’t allowing the imported users to access what they needed to access. Please log off and back in and try it now. It was a simple DB issue but I double-checked it with an imported account and it works
