7 in a row as the Mav’s win again extending “Season’s Beatings” to the Wizards 107-80. Dirk does the Wiz to the tune 30 pts, 14 reb and five assts. The defense is looking so much better now and will continue to be so.
Rockets get an 86-82 win over the Washington Wizards. Good defense comes through when the shots aren’t falling.
The Spurs beat the Heat 106-86.
Mav’s WIN, Mav’s WIN - beat San Antonio on their own floor and have an eight game win streak. Was a great game, very intense - season is looking good.
Spurs have lost 3 game all year and all 3 are home games, go figure that one.
Dirk scores 31 points with 10 rebounds while Duncan scores 29 points with 6 boards.
The difference? I think Josh Howard being back with some quality minutes and 12 points. Also, Manu Ginobili left in the third quarter with a back injury.
Neither team scores a 100 points and they must look like they are playing themselves at times. A.J. has the Spurs formula down and he has made the Mav’s believers. Mav’s and Spurs are now 1 and 1 against each other this season.
MAVERICKS 85, HORNETS 73 Mav’s record now to 9 and 4.
Dirk scored a game-high 28 points but Josh Howard helps the Mav’s open the game with a 21-3 run as he starts the game instead of coming off the bench. They lead from start to finish.
Did the league really call the Mav’s, at halftime, and tell them to keep the bench players from jumping up and cheering too much. Too ridiculous!! Maybe the NBA wants the fans to start staying home so they won’t take anything away from the game. I understand wanting to let fans enjoy the games, safely, and I even want the Mav’s owner to NOT be the focus of the team but the NBA is going to kill the fun of the game if they go too far with all the micro-managing.

Rockets beat Grizzlies 85-76. Yao has 28 points with 3 blks and T-Mac scores 19 points with 13 assists. Now that is a great night from a guard.
T’wolves come to town to face the Mavs tonight at American Airlines Center.

At Seattle, Tim Duncan scores 18, pulls down 16 rebounds with 6 assists and the Spurs keep the winning road streak alive. Tony Parker adds a team high 20 points with most of them in 4th to help seal the win.
The win streak is alive at 10 in a row after that terrible start of 4 losses in a row. Mav’s 93 T-wolves 87. 6 Mav’s score in double figures including Dampier with 12 pts and 11 boards. Dirk scores 15 but has an off night shooting 2 of 8 from the field.
Toronto comes to town on Wed. looking to be victim 11.

Warriors 111, Spurs 102 and the road win streak is over. Duncan is good with 22 points, 16 rebounds, six blocks while Tony Parker scores 28 but the run and gun warriors are too much for the Spurs as Manu Ginobili misses his second straight game.

Rockets’ next game is Tuesday: Minnesota at Toyota Center
While the Mav’s and Spurs were idle, the Rockets keep grooving and win their 4th straight 82-75 over the Timberwolves.
Battier lights up the score board with five 3-pointers and scores 17 total. McGrady was injured, AGAIN, but did play in the second half. Defense was the key in this low score game.

Mav’s play tonight against Toronto at Home.
Spurs are in Salt Lake to take on the Jazz.
Mavericks roll on past the Toronto Raptors 117-98 taking the win streak to 11. Dirk goes out in the 1st quarter but the Mav’s still take a 20 point lead. Dirk had blurred vision but was told it was a “retina bruise” and he will be ok to play by the next game. Dallas record with the win is now 11 and 4.
Our other two Texas both lose.
Utah Jazz 83, San Antonio Spurs 75 The Spurs now have a 11 and 5 record.
Phoenix Suns 102, Houston Rockets 91 The Rocket win streak is over at 4 games and they sport a 10-5 record.

Mavericks franchise win streak is 14 but was it really only 3 week ago we were talking about a 4 game losing streak? First they look like they forgot how to win and now they look like they forgot how to lose. What happened?
Devin Harris moved into the starting lineup and created a speed problem for those trying to guard him and that let Jason Terry free to do what he does best. Stackhouse is coming off the bench again and showing how valuable he is as a scorer and passer. They also got worked over real good by the coach to remember to play defense on the other end. Opposing teams are now only shooting around 44%. They will lose again someday and it could be against the Kings when they play tonight.

Rockets finish the season’s first month 10-5 which is good but the record is against teams who have a combined record of 58-91. The Rockets have allowed the fewest points in the NBA, 89.3 per game, but they have turn-over problems still and they come in the 4th quarter when they are losing the big leads and games. There are some long road trips coming and the competition gets better too. They had better solve some of their problems and stay healthy or they won’t have a Merry Christmas.

Spurs have three losses in their last four games and no longer look like the team that started off so well. Manu hasn’t played since he was hurt in the game against the Mav’s and may miss a few more games. The bench hasn’t really taken up the slack and has been inconsistent on defense. The games they lost were all winnable or close in the last quarter. The home losses are meaningful since, in December, 10 of the team’s 15 games are at home and the Spurs had been one of the best home teams in the league. If Michael Finley and Robert Horry don’t start scoring, it is going to be a blue, blue Christmas for the Spurs. Still, an 11- 5 record is good.
MAVERICKS 109, KINGS 90
Mavs play a good hand and deal the Kings another loss to take the win streak to 12.
Josh Howard, scores a game high 24 points while Dirk has 18 but it was raining 3’s early and the kings couldn’t stop the rain, so they drown in it. The game was only close when it began as the Mav’s score at least 30 points in the 1st period for the 5th game in a row. The Kings were trying to catch up all night long but the game was over before they could.

The players’ association filed two unfair labor practice charges Friday against the NBA over issues with the new ball and the league’s crackdown on player complaints.
I suspect the, N(othing) B(ut) A(ttorneys) league will disagree and things will go on as usual. If the players don’t like it, they will probably just go to their other job that plays them 12 million dollars a year.
The Mav’s are still off and will be until Monday night in Washington where they are favored to keep the win streak alive.

San Antonio Spurs beat the Sacramento Kings 100-98 making the Kinks 0 and 2 against Texas teams on this trip. Spurs lead by 16 in the 3rd period but lose that lead and then have to fight to survive. Duncan does 18 points, 11 rebounds and six assists but Bruce Bowen is the Man as he hits 6, 3’s personally and the Spurs hit 11 as a team. Now if they could just get their uniforms to fit they could quit spending half the night tucking in their retro silver jerseys and pulling up their shorts. Of course the league will fine them if they don’t keep the shirts tucked in.

The Houston Rockets put the defensive clamps on the Cleveland Cavaliers and take an 81-63 win. Lebron James is held to 21 pts while Yao’s line is 24 pts, 4 ast, 4 blks. How do you hold a team to only 63 points? Like this:

Mav’s lose to the Wiz to end the win streak at 12 by a score of 106-97. Down by 30 points at times, the Mav’s made runs but came up short as all the starters for the Wiz scored in double figures, led by Arenas with 38.
Most Mav’s shrugged their shoulders and said they would just have to start another win streak.
Next game is tonight at New Jersey, to play the Nets.
Some Mav’s are saying the new ball may be causing some paper cut like injuries on their hands. The cuts can affect how you catch and shoot the ball. Even some coaches who pass the ball in drills are starting to wear gloves in practice. Very Interesting.

The Spurs win over the Warriors by a huge margin of 129-89 victory at the AT&T Center. The Warriors coach, you may have heard of him, Don Nelson, said something like, “it was an behind kicking. We got it. They gave it.” Manu Ginobili returned to action and it seemed to inspire even the bench players.
A side note, when was the last time you saw the ball get stuck under the rim twice in one game while players were trying to rebound it? New ball issue? More players don’t like the new ball the more they play with it.
Mav’s win over the Nets, 92-75. Dirk has 26 points, 13 rebounds while Josh Howard scores 20 points and the defense clamps down. The Nets were held to 35 percent shooting while only scoring 14 points in the 1st and 4th quarters.
