Actually, 3rd turn if you’re a mad top-decker(T1 BOP/Elves/EoDS/Sprawl, T2 Double-BOP/Elves/EoDS/Sprawl + play Dark Depths and T3 snap), 4th turn if you’re only a really good top-decker(T1/T2 Accel, T3 Depths, T4 snap), and well… turn 18-22 if you’re like the rest of us…

good, yes. goes with hoffmann’s snakes deck… but nothing more than a thieving magpie that gets helix’d, hammered, charred, yamabuhshi’d, first striked, or incinerated. oh yeah, and putrefied, mortified, consumed, darkly banished, oh and it hates savage twister.

Yep, they took a good Weatherlight common, improved it slightly, moved it to a color that won’t play it, and made it rare. Ophidian was far better than this because it was in the same color as Counterspell and Mana Leak. Can you really see green playing a slow, controlling strategy based on small card-drawing creatures? With three mana green needs to playing real threats (Troll Ascetic, this means you! or even Gnarled Mass or its ilk). Perhaps playable in U/G control where you really need to keep drawing VoidSlime, Remand, Leak, and Hinder? Even then, I’d rather run the Magpie since it comes with evasion. I do have to say that this may be the best work I’ve seen from Kev Walker, though--love the art!

I actually think it’s a great card… and since green is coming back… yeah… :p
I’m sad they nurfed blue as bad as they did (this coming from an avid blue-hate fan...) because they take turns and don’t give black it’s TRUE turn to shine ever… it goes from Blue to white to green to red skip black back skip blue back to white etc.
I would definitely use it, but I disagree with R&D’s decision to make this rare… it should be uncommon at worst.

Cards like the viper make me wanna see things like Predator’s Strike and levitation back in the coreset. Oh wait, those cards suck… nevermind. The viper might see some play, but I really don’t see it being more than a $3 rare… it’ll be the Teysa of Coldsnap…

He’s good. i like him. i like pillory with him, galvanic arc, phyrexian arena, ghostly prison(?), story circle, glorious anthem, moldervine cloak, etc.

There will also be new versions of the pump knights. Instead of reading “Gains FS” they read “Gains Flying”... which is really cool for limited, and pretty darn good for constructed also… And with those 30+ cards just spoiled the last day or so, CS limited is looking a WHOLE LOT funner… sign me up.

Also, Vexing Sphinx(courtesy of SCG) is HOT!!!!!!!! I’m really getting let down on how good Coldsnap is… I didn’t want to have to buy cards from another damn set.
