Card vs Card: Worship, sorry guys I HATE the Angel even more (because even I wouldn’t use it)

Yeah, I like both of those cards, and I’m not sure which one to vote for.  Worship is probably the stronger card even with its limitations, but I’m not positive.  Angel is more versatile and attacks for four, but dies more easily (almost every deck features creature kill or bounce, whereas most decks don’t run main deck enchantment destruction).  Worship is cheaper and harder to get rid of, and with a Troll or Paladin out you’re more secure than you would be with the Angel, but it does require a hard-to-kill creature in order to be effective, and it doesn’t prevent decking or life loss (but how many times have you been killed by those in the past six months?  Zero, most likely, unless your opponent double Kokusho’d in which case he was running black and could have killed an Angel anyway.).  I’m wondering what the alternatives are to each card.  If Worship is in, what rare artifact will replace Angel, and if Worship is out what does White get instead?  I’ll probably vote for Worship because it is so good with Troll and I’m hoping the rare Artifact replacement for Angel will be a Sword of Something or Other.

X is definitely better than 10.  Both Incinerate shots look similar to me, so I’ll probably vote for A since Incinerate kills one creature, not two.

Aren’t we running into the “Ravnica is only going to be in type 2 with 10th (Xth?) for a couple of months” quandary at this point, though?  Not saying the combo isn’t fine, it is (except it still dies to board sweepers like Wildfire and Wrath, which could be in 10th as well), just playing devil’s advocate to remember not to base choices too much on cards in Rav Block. 

Now if you want Platinum Angel back so you can go Tribal with Adarkar Valkyrie, that’s a whole different story…

Yes, but how often was Worship actually “played” by anyone?  I like the idea of a combo like Troll/Worship being in the Core Set.  Fun times.  Especially because Mortify won’t be in the set with it for very long…

I’m fine with either card...that’s just my johnny talking…

it was played a few times, with troll even. platinum angel was played as well, occasionally in T&N and Fat-affinity. I just want to be able to play Tribal Angels in Standard. BTW: Valkyrie + PAngel is pretty good.

Is it just me or is it really impossible to tell from this post which one you like better?  I got nothing.  Are you saying that Worship is casual-only because it hasn’t been played since Troll Worship a year ago, or are you saying that Angel is casual-only because it hasn’t been played since Tooth and Nail a year ago?  One (Worship) is only good when hard-to-kill creatures are in the format, and the other (Angel) is only good when Tooth and Nail and either Leonin Abunas or Fountain Watch are in the format.  So I’m still thinking Worship is more powerful, but Angel is probably going to win.
