Opened up a pack of Dissension the other day, and got a blank// filler card in a common slot. Has anyone else opened up really weird misprints, ect. in packs? I know Blake has a set of the Skyhunter with the same black mark on it. Anyone else?

Is this easily replicable? It has a magic back and black boarders on front but is all white otherwise. I know you can peel foils and have an all white front, making then much easier to come by (because they are not real errors). It would be pretty sad to have opened one and be able to make fifty others with some tape and an eraser .

There’s ways to detect/spot forged ones.  These happen from time to time.  Most go for between $20-50, mostly $25-30.  I’ve got a mail order customre looking for this one in particular (there’s about a dozen differant kinds) so I’d be interested in it.  Let me know what you want for it, and we’ll figure something out.

Very cool that you have one straight out of the pack like that!  I have one that the foil peeled off of, but there’s no glue on it for some reason(as there usually is when you physically peel the foil off yourself), so it probably looks pretty similar to yours.  I want to get a Magic artist somewhere to draw me something cool on it, I think. 

Or if I ever meet Richard Garfield, perhaps he’ll just write Black Lotus on it.  Then I can play Type 1…

The only time I get error cards is when they get stuck in the pack press and have crimps.

Not at all,really.  The primary way that blank/filler cards come about is from the printing of the theme decks.  About 90% of the time, the sets all run off of 11x11 uncut sheets.  That’s 121 spots.  Each sheets would contain two theme decks in their entirety, leaving one extra spot.  This is usually left blank in one way or another.  White w/black border, all white, all black, all silver, black w/white ‘M’, white w/black ‘M’, etc.  Theirs been many, many differant ones over the years.

The artist proofs are prelim printings sent to the artists as part of the compensation package of commisioning the art.  They have blank white backs, while the fronts are 100% normal.  Various quantities have been released, ranging from 50-250 of each AP.  Most commonly (over 90% AFAIK) they print 50 or 100 of each.

Oh, and not that anyone’s interested, but I just got my 10th misprinted Skyknight last night. 

I saw someone open one in a draft a couple weeks ago and I meant to tell you about it.  I had to explain that it wasn’t an isolated incedent.

Nice!  I know it’s kinda funny - Everyone who knows me knows that I have been collecting those, so I’m hearing about them all the time.  They’re all over the place apparently.  If people can’t get them in the draft (obviously draft the cards that will win you the game, not janky crap that’s misprinted for me...lol), they’re at least telling people that I collect them and I’ll trade for them if necessary.  Random, but fun!

I really wouldn’t call Skynight Legionaire a janky crap card, it’s really good for certain draft archetypes(BRW/RWU)...

...and for something totally off-topic for this thread, but somewhat related to general MTG, I just got 3 DCI Textless Lightning Helixes in the mail!! They’re soooo SWEET!!1!

P.S. Anyone want my DCI Hyppie? I’m tired of getting these useless things in the mail…
