hey since you were playing ghost dad why not run ‘ghost’-ly prison also in side :-D.  i am assuming you have wog in the deck also.  also did you see a lot of the kodoma of the north tree running?

Well, no, besides the obvious “It kills my creatures too” argument, my deck is Aggro Control, so if I don’t have any Aggro, I usually don’t have control.  I don’t need Ghostly Prison because Aggro decks are usually a bye for me.  Shining Shoal + Tallowisp triggers = gg.

I totally blanked on this when we were talking about sideboard (I think) but cruel edict would have been decent.

I only used half of my sideboard the whole day.

Yar Cruel Edicts is what you needed it sounds like. Untargetable creatures are often a nightmare. Another answer for ledgewalker that I’ve used before is Night of Soul’s Betrayal but that’s more for straight up Control decks.

Interesting - looks like most of the field stuck to their roots, with a bit of Dissension splashed in. Did anyone see a new whacky deck based on Dissension cards or a new crazy spin thanks to Dissension cards?

It seems like there was a good representation of Madness players near the top in the last round.  I was at table 14 playing against Random Matt, Mark Beardsley was on my left.  Then to his left there was Kevin, Kevin, and then Nathan up there at table 4.

I started off 0-2 but learned how to sideboard and then went 7-0 with help from Random Matt.

I too lost badly against the same deck Blake did.  Ledgwalker with moldervine cloak is a bad matchup for my Ghost Dad discard deck:

For the record, Rakdos Guildmage is NOT one of the most common uncommons, seeing as I’ve opened over a box worth of Dissension packs (mostly prizes) and I have not cracked a SINGLE ONE.  While I have about eight Simic Guildmages.  Yes.  My first Regionals was pretty cool, even though I’m still annoyed at the play mistake I made that literally cost me match 6.  I started off 5-0, having only lost 2 games.  I then proceeded to lose twice in a row, then draw and concede the last two matches for an amazing 5-3-1 record (14-9-1 in games).  Oh well.  I loved my deck, and I’m really happy I got people watching “that crazy Snakes deck” at the top table for two rounds.  I will be playing this to perfection at FNM.  Incidentally, my sideboard was pretty good for me, though I’ve made a few more changes that will be even better.

that was a pretty cool last round in terms of proximity to other madness dudes. even though my match was a super-fun auto-loss

Cruel Edict is ok, but situational for me.  I don’t really want them to sac the dude I’ve just Pilloried, and if they know they’re going to “Cloak it up"(tm) next turn, they’ll probably just sac their first turn Kird Ape or Frenzied Goblin…

Grrr...stupid untargetables...lol.  I have a feeling we’ll be seeing more Wraths and Culling Suns in the future....

That’s one of the things I was most happy about all day long… My Sideboard… I think I used every single card at least 3 times, and I’ll probably be using the same sideboard for the next month or so… well, I hope so, at least.

i didnt use hide // seek at all, since it was only for heartbeat, and the thing that gave me my only 2 losses (to the same guy mind you) was vitu-ghazi with bouncelands for fetters removal of it, im thinking i may end up siding ghost quarters lol

Yeah, i’ve had people do that against me(bounce their ghazi w/ a guildland) in LIMITED to get rid of fetters… and I presume it’s even more demoralizing when it happens in constructed…

I just had a terrible experience at regionals… it was bad enough that I haven’t even felt like posting about it… ask me sometime tho, and I’ll tell… it just takes too long to type out.
Matt knows, Chris knows, Nathan knows… arrgh! I just wanted to vault over the table and tackle them… but I’m above that… i’d rather run ‘em over in the car :p
