Yeah, combo deck, i cant remember if i told you about it friday or not. Utopia Sprawl + Ley Druid + Freed From the Real. Add in a guildmage and you have an infinite mana/infinite damage combo. Plays alot like Heartbeat, but it can go off a turn sooner (Turn one: Breeding Pool, Utopia sprawl. Turn 2: Forest, Ley Druid. Turn 3: Freed on Druid, he taps to untap pool. Infinite mana through tapdancing. Cast guildmage, pump Druid to ungodly proportions, swing for indecent amounts of mana.) Not as good as heartbeat, but it could go a turn faster with luck. Too many weaknesses to be viable tho. <shrug> You live, you learn. Trying a new one out now.. Calling it Nanotech… basically micro izzit based on crack the earth.. should be interesting, but it seems to have problems getting off the ground for some reason…
Regionals
What about doing it with the Rakdos Guildmage… this way you can make tons of small dudes and then attack with loads of weenie guys? 2/1 hasters should solve some problems…

Thats an idea, and i thought about it, but it needs red mana to do that. The ONLY way to get unlimited red with this deck is izzit karro, stomping ground, and Orochi leafcaller, all of which have some problems of their own that they add. Biggest problem was deciding if i should run this as control or aggro. Druid is WAY to easy to kill before i get the Freed on him. The last version of this i built (which never got tested due to FNM being non-dissension) was running chord to try and pull him out EOT to minimize exposure, and running all the cheap hard counters (basically making it a mirror for heartbeat) but i didnt get a chance to see if that worked or not.
but the Utopia Sprawl will do that itself… you can call red, while playing it on your first turn G/U Dual, and then next turn drop the guy like you said you were, then next turn freed, and use the blue that you get from the G/U Dual to untap, and then get infinite red… why is there a problem?

I just don’t understand how you would NOT get the red mana that you’d need… this way you have just another win condition depending on what you have in your hand at the time you go off… then you have just one more way to do it, increasing your win odds by +12.5%... that’s good odds…

Hmm, yeah, i can do that, forgot about sprawling red on a pool. Of course that means i need a pool, so id need to run some sort of fetch… farseek and Wood elves right? (im half asleep at work right now...cant think if there are others...)
you could also run 4 stomping grounds and call blue on the sprawl.

run the karoos as well, that way an enchantment destruction cannot stop you mid combo once they find out what you are running (assuming you left a blue source untapped for backup)
Borrow money from pessimists - they don’t expect it back
also look into the blur guy who untaps target permanant, so it would be harder to cranial you out of the game.

stone-seeder hierophant is basically a more expensive ley druid, and tidewater minion is the one Nathan is talking about.

Cool, yeah i had a singleton heirophant to help with cranial, but i forgot about the tidewater. May have to give this deck another once over and see what i can do with it.
