RAV Block FNM

I’m not trying to be difficult, but:

To make it easier to participate, Friday Night Magic events may only be Standard Constructed, Sealed Deck or Booster Draft. Keeping these formats makes it easier for new players to participate, and you only have to remember three things: Pack your Standard deck; remember where the tournament is happening, and what time it starts.

Just saying.  I think that’s why some people gripe about Block for FNM.  I’m personally fine with it, but if people don’t know it’s block and show up without block decks, they will be sad.

i’m thinking WUBG aughta be fun and easy enough to build… with a splash of red...

And Genju of the Realm for the win.  Solid.

Those that were winning with their type 2 decks won’t care to have block end their run, those that don’t have the cards won’t want to play block, and those that can’t play type 2 because they don’t have the cards will love block.  As Chris says - he can’t make everyone happy (but I’m pretty excited about the release weekend!)

im happy with… oh yeah playing magic…

Love,
Matt

Coldsnap Sealed: who cares
Coldsnap Draft: who cares

Anyone who doesn’t have a block deck, I’m happy let them borrow any extra rares // duals I have left after building both my and my father’s decks.

Ha ha ha. You know me, I don’t drop. I go 0-5 like a man ;).

You mean like a man with a horrible rating? :P

Splash for what? The other 4 Nephilims? That a boy… Drooling-Tongue Nephilim FTW!!

It’s not about the rating, it’s about the women. I mean cards. CARDS!

Seriously, I don’t really care at all about my rating. It’s just a number. Unfortunately, I share the same seniments with my grades in school

hahah Chris…

I would really really love to play block. People that have type 2 cards should have block cards - they are a subset of type 2 now right? sure that means you need more Rav cards, namely duals, but hopefully it should still make most people happy.

I hope it’s true that every snowflake is unique, because I never want to see one like this again.

*Bump*

Also, what happened with this concept? Is it to be block or Standard tomorrow (June 30)?
In addition, what time would it be starting? I forgot since it’s been so, so, so… long!

RGD Sealed Pariah’s Sheild(s) pulled: 17
RGD Sealed’s Played in: 16
(One was shiny...)

I like big creatures and I cannot lie
You other players can’t deny
That when a beast walks in with an itty bitty cost
And your blockers are all lost
You get removal!

I’m still rooting for one or two random extended tournaments… :) I guess it’s kinda hard to sanction events like that though… I’m sure you had to pull some strings just to hold the 1.5 tourney today. Either way, i’m rooting for an alternate FNM(well, besides Sealed :P).

Yeah, that catchy little phase from that quoted page is also very out of date.
First off, FNM may be 2 Headed Giant Sealed or 2 HG Constructed as well.  That article does not mention that.
Second, “Pack your Standard deck; remember where the tournament is happening, and what time it starts.” Does not work. or is atl east a little misleading, if FNM is Sealed or Draft…

I’m sad to say, that due to various reasons I don’t want to get into, FNM we remain on the schedule it has been. (i.e. 1st week Sealed, all others Type 2)

I’ve always really liked the block formats, even in blocks that sucked.  But FNM will remain sealed/T2 for us.  If there is sufficent total interest, I may consider doing something in addition as block.  But for now, FNM is it.

So when are we doing 2HG Sealed again?  How about the Coldsnap release event?

I think that just means that if you bring your Standard deck, you’ll always be able to play FNM because you don’t need to have a deck for Draft of Sealed.  Not like it really matters - I just was trying to be informative more than anything.

I’m sad that there’s no real Rav block happenings, but oh well.
