yes, but then you’re stuck with a bit of colorless too… but that’s not too hard to sink into… :)

yeah, not hard at all...hehehe

Borrow money from pessimists - they don’t expect it back

Interesting enchantment. Two could make hierarch suck beyond belief along with faith fetters, and all those other good life gain spells.

Rain of gore, rains all over firemane angels parade.  (and lots of other creatures with “gain life” type of effects) I like it!

There’s another RB card that’s quite a bit better than Rain of Gore, too.  Did anyone notice Rise//Fall?  STOOPID!  Basically Hymn to Tourach that doesn’t hit lands.  It’s still pretty good, as it’s very unlikely to hit more than one land, and Rakdos is looking to get cards into the grave itself anyway.  Against some decks it can pretty much win the game on its own.  Remarkably solid.

is it me, or did rakdos get every ‘broken’ card that was thrown out from saga block until now?

the 2/2 hasty rat that make the opp. discard and take life of CMC!?!? INSANE

Love,
Matt

Standard: Ideal 31-7-8

Rakdos got a WELL UNBALANCED majority of the BEST and/or most broken cards in RAV block… it’s kinda sad they did it… but oh well… BRW will be AMAZING!

Well, that guy pretty much reads:
2BR
Creature - Rat?
Haste
When ~ comes into play, target player discards a land card from his/her hand.
2/2

...playable, but not too amazing. But what IS amazing is the “Fall” portion of Rise // Fall… that card’s completely nuts… if you play it on turn 3-4, it’s almost guaranteed to hit 2 non-land cards(your opponent has already played 3-4 lands), and if it doesn’t, then your opponent is obviously too mana-flooded to overcome much of your aggressiveness. I think this will be one of the best uncommons in the set. :)

Check this out on the rules for split cards from “saturday school” with Judge Carter

Q: The split card Odds/Ends is imprintable on Isochron Scepter, correct? Once imprinted, can both halves be played? --Mason S.

A: At least one half (Odds) is both an instant and has converted mana cost of two or less. You can imprint the card (Odds/Ends) and play either half when the Scepter’s activated ability resolves.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Can you use Sunforger to search for Odds/Ends? If so, would you be able to play Ends? Or would you be forced to play Odds? --Nop J.

A: Like questions about Isochron Scepter with Odds/Ends, at least one half qualifies for Sunforger’s ability. You can search for the card because the Odds half is valid, and then as you play the card you’ll choose which half is being played.

sunforger is so awesome.
is it possible to fetch odds and play ends instead?

I absolutely LOVE odds and ends. it will go straight into angel weirding. perfect fit.
it potentially kills North Tree.

Kevin

I don’t believe so, since the Sunforger is looking for a card with CMC of four or less, and the CMC of Odds//Ends is seven.  Because it says “card” and not “spell,” I’m pretty sure you can’t fetch Odd//Ends at all with Sunforger, regardless of which half you’d like to play.

Well, actually that’s not the case. When sunforger looks for an instant with CMC 4 or less, it looks at each part of the spell. The spell still has a CMC of 7, but that’s not what the sunforger looks at. “Red or White Instant with CMC 4 or less” does not = “Red or White Instant card with CMC 4 or less.” At least I think that’s how it works... here’s a link for reference: http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=37550

And I absolutely LOVE Wrecking ball… not becuase it can kill a creature or a land, but because it can kill a land at INSTANT SPEED. Yippee… :)

*COUGH* *COUGH* I think I’m beginning to hear an echo… :P

I think he may be better than you think.  If you play it mid-game, on a turn when they’re waiting to cast their Siege Wurm/Rotwurm, etc. it seems pretty good.  But yes, if you hit an opponent who’s land flooded, you will probably get a land.  But you also get an opponent who’s land-flooded.  Hasty beats, away!!  :)

Yeah, that’s what I was trying to say about Rise // Fall… It’s not so great on Turn-2(the rat isn’t that great on Turns 3/4), but later in the game when your opponent has 2-4 cards in hand(around turns 6-7ish), they’re both great… And as with Rise // Fall, if you play the rat lategame, and your opponent is still discarding lands, then you’re in a good position anyway. ;)
