Moon Knight

Survey says… three thumbs up!
All around a good book, and this is only issue 1!

Just read it. Yeah, to be honest, this is one of the only books in the past few years to genuinely surprise me. I thought it was all a bit too pat in the first few pages. Nice setup and a nice twist to get me hooked.

Possible spoilers:

I’m somewhat surprised that Marc has fallen so low as to actually hit Marlene, but it’s certainly an indicator of his mindset. I’m guessing the gnarled teeth in the flashback belong to Bushmaster. I hope so, at least. Good stuff.

Thanks for the critique guys. I’ve been wanting to pick MK up, actually it’s sitting in my box at the Comic shop. I’ve been a fan of MK, since his first appearance, way back in the day, when I was just a wee lad.

I was sorely disappointed with the book in the 90’s and thought I might never return.

But, if y’all say it’s a good read, then I can’t wait to pick it up.

Joel, you know that has to be Bushmaster, or at least I hope so b/c he’s like MK’s, Joker.

has moon knight had his one comic befor this?

Yep. Here’s a rundown for ya:

1980: his first ongoing series, “Moon Knight” debuted, written by Doug Moench with art by Bill Sienkiewicz (a great artist!)

1985: Moonie starred in a 6 issue series, “Moon Knight” as well.

1989: “Marc Spector: Moon Knight” debuted, written by Chuck Dixon with art by Sal Velluto. This series lasted 60 issues.

1998: He starred in a 4 issue mini-series called...you guessed it; “Moon Knight”, written by Moench, with art by Tommy Lee Edwards (another brilliant artist!)

1999: Another 4 issue mini with the title “Moon Knight”, again written by Moench, but this time Mark Texeira is the artist.

And that’s the last series until the current ongoing. There were some one-shots along the way, but nothing really worth mentioning here.

I compiled this info with the help of GCD (http://www.comics.org)’s database. It’s a great reference tool for comic geeks like us.

Hope that helps! :P

THANK YOU DAVID FINCH;-)!!!

Finally getting to the posts...sheesh....

MOON KNIGHT!! Yes I read all the books, own most of the original series anyway and love the new one. Why you may ask? Because they made him FINALLY kick ass.  The new series is how I always wished for Moon Knight to be.  He is Marvel’s rendition to Batman.  Hear me out...that means you in the back...When Marvel vs. DC came out I never understood why they always pit Batman against Daredevil.  Who ever is writing the comic naturally can sway the favor into either of their hands. Daredevil knows what Batman will do before he even completes the move, and Batman can figure out how to disrupt DD’s radar.  But what I always wanted was Moon Knight vs. Batman story. There would be blood drawn that is all I am saying.  I will not argue who would win or lose just that pitting them against one another would not only look fricken interesting (dark knight vs. white knight), but the battle would MAKE SENSE.  Please let them continue to push the envelope with this character and see where Moon Knight will go instead of like all the other titles already knowing where he will end up.  And on a side note, the last issue made sense in that I really do not like the Taskmaster or his get up, so having Moony (knowing only to his friends) kick the snot of him and take back his cape is long over due.

Moon Knight will also now be in the Civil War story line.
