Forecast: 9, which is apparently the Azorius mechanic.  I don’t think anyone knows what it does, though.

I’m hoping the amount of occurances of “counter” are because of the graft mechanic, though there are two blue guilds this time.  We already have the amazing Voidslime, which is GUU for “Counter target spell or activated or triggered ability.”

EDIT: This is now confirmed.  Graft is sort of like reverse Modular and works with +1/+1 counters, so this is why the word appears so often in the set.  The rare Cytoplast Root-Kin that has Graft moves counters around like the unholy love child of Arcbound Ravager and Spike Feeder.

...It’s nice that they’re making a Hydra though. I wonder what that’ll look like. And no angels?? That’s REALLY surprising, considering we really only have 3 angels so far… I mean seriously, you’d think in a block with lots of huge multicolored bombalicious creatures, there’d be a few angels.

Yeah, I was really surprised by the “no angels” thing.  There was only one red angel (and three blue ones, all of which were also white and one [Guiding Spirit] is now a Spirit thanks to being in “reprinted” in Visions online*) prior to Ravnica.  Oh well.  I’m hopeful Azorius will get some really nice counterspells (though the Simic one is pretty hot).  Oh wait, no I don’t.  I’m an aggro/control player.  I hate counterspells.  Go away Azorius!  But before you leave, may I please have your shock land for my upcoming U/W tron deck?  Thanks, Grand Arbiter Augustine IV!
