Rombado’s Customs~SPIDERMAN 3 “New” pg5~Index pg1

Circe, is my last JLU custom on this order for my buddy, Kevin. I relly love the character choices he picks, they always offer such an awesome challenge. Well Circe was no exception, in fact, she was definitely the toughest of the three.

I started with a Wonder Woman, and used clear vinyl for her skirt base. This allows me to then sculpt her actual skirt, w/o having the AS stick to her legs, and retain their POA. I always prefer to sculpt whenever I can, I feel it gives the figure a certain realism, you can’t get from just painting. That’s why I really liked all the lines in Circe’s costume, b/c they added a greater depth to the figure. The top of the hair is a single piece of AS formed, with 3 curly strands, 2 on the side and one in the center of her forehead.

I then sculpted her gloves and boot tops. Also with some great lines to form.

Hey guys, thanks so much for your feedback on my JLU customs.

JoMiHa, Thanks Joel, you know how much I appreciate your opinions. And yes, Yes that is a Herc in the background.

curvezilla, Thanks Chris, man in one word you blew me away. I really dig the new Avatar, very cool my man.

Xavier, Thanks X, these guys did offer a lot of challenge. An there were a few times I didn’t think I was going to pull it off. For you to commit on the sculpt work, let me know I did alright.

Thanks again fellas,
Rom

Hey y’all, up next is the third member of the Lunatacs, Amok. I know must of us don’t remember these guys, but they appeared in the last season of the Thundercats show.
Amok, is a commissioned piece for my buddy, Dave. He’s the buyer that commission the first two Lunatacs, Luna and Tug Mug.

Amok started off as SF Blanka figure. I cut off the hair from chest, arms, and legs and began sculpting the legs and armor.

Next, I sculpted his battle harness.

Next, was attaching his tail. I used a tail from the monster that came with Spat from the 90’s TB line. I anchored it with super glue and Apoxie.

Once the body was done, I began sculpting his head. Amok has a huge noggin, so I had to build it up in layers. Once the head was complete, and had to sculpt the rest of his chin and horns. The horns are made from Super Sculpey that was baked in the oven.

Now that all of his sculpting was done, it was time to base coat, wash, and stain the figure.

And the rest was good ol’ elbow grease, (a whole lot of elbow grease).

All I gotta say… THUNDERCATS HO!!!!

Nice work on Amok. Amazing work as usual.

Customer Service is best served with a lightsaber.:lightsaber:

That is by far IMHO your best sculpt work yet.

Hey guys, thanks so much for your feedback on Amok. I really appreciate it.

DarthMolen, Thanks Darth, I really enjoyed bringing Amok to life. But, there were a few times I thought he just might be beyond my skills. I guess my desire to never quit and to always please the customer, just kept pushing me in new directions in order to get the job done.

The only thing left to say is, HO!
(Eyes start to glow, as I look up to the cat signal in the sky.)

curvezilla, Thanks Chris, you know my wife said the same thing. But, I’m always harder on myself, b/c I can always see something that I can improve on. However, now that I’m looking at Amok, I find that I’m very happy with him.

I’ve got some great ideas for KH, that I think your going to really like.

Thanks again,
Rom

Well, you know what I think of it, but it’s just so cool to see all the WIPs and finished pictures presented like this. somehow I missed the tail WIP photos before. Awesome use of parts and seamless integration. Man, I love the sculptwork on the back...and the front...and everywhere!  And the paint apps are the icing on the cake. I just noticed that you repainted the teeth and inner mouth as well. Now that’s going the extra mile! And the back really looks like worn leather...perfect. What did you use to prime him? Awesome job yet again, bro!

Dude, you make blush with your wonderful comments. Amok was a great learning experience, that taught me a few new skills and helped develop some others I already had. Thanks so much again for doing the amazing group shot of all 3 Lunatacs, Dave, my buyer absolutely loved it. You the man, bro!

I just stumbled in here but I really never thought of the things you could do with these figures but wow. These are really nice.
