For those of you looking for some hack-n-slash in your diet and are tired of Dungeon Siege 2, Mage Knight Apocalypse looks to be right up your alley.
Gamespot recently released a short preview of the game. It’s an action adventure game that is light on the RPG. It will be heavily story driven with plenty of cut scenes to entertain. You won’t be able to change names or gender, but you will be able to collect tons of items to change your avatar’s appearance throughout the game.
The preview makes it out to be quite simplistic so it remains to be seen whether it can entertain over the long haul. The videos on Gamespot reminded me of the newer Gauntlet action arcade games when it came to how the characters moved and behaved, which is a good thing IMHO.
Hopefully this game will deliver on the fun factor yet offer plenty of depth and replayability for hours of enjoyment. It is due at the end of September 2006 (this month).
