Street Figher II' Hyper Fighting

by: The Ryan

Street Fighter II hits XBox Live with a Sonic Boom!

After months of waiting, it’s finally here. In it’s dated 1992 graphics, Street Fighter II’ Hyper Fighting is still as fun to play as it was back then.

After playing for about 2 hours I realized that I need LOTS of practice to get back into the groove of this game. But in Street Fighter, it’s even fun when you lose. After about a decade of not playing the game, it seems ten times harder than it was. Thankfully, Microsoft didn’t update the graphics, they just converted it to HD and left it alone. If there was any reason to start playing Xbox Live Arcade, this is it!

The sound has been updated to 5.1 surround sound so you can hear Sonic Boom’s and Haduken’s from all around you. All the graphical touches are all there. Things like Vega’s claws popping off it you hit it enough to boxes breaking if you throw someone into them, you remember, all the things that we were so amazed by back then. The online mode works flawlessly, I have not experienced any lag or drops in the network at all. Although it might be broken, because I can’t seem to win...

All of the original 12 favorites are back, from Ryu to M. Bison. $10 for a piece of 90’s nostalgia that you’ll probably be playing until the next XBox comes around is totally worth it. So there’s no reason I shouldn’t see each one of you online and playing. If you want to start a match that you’re probably going to win, you can always challenge the gamertag Komikazee to a match.
