The director of the first three films confirms the studio’s plans to continue the franchise after this summer’s Spider-Man 3, but doesn’t confirm on whether or not he’ll return to direct.
Superherohype! attended the Los Angeles press junket for Spider-Man 3, and reports that director Sam Raimi confirms plans for Spider-Man 4, 5, and 6.
Raimi said he hasn’t had time to even think about continuing as director, especially since he just finished the third film a few weeks ago. Raimi also says he doesn’t want to presume the studio would even ask him back in the first place.
He said there has to be a good story to tell and that "it’d be very hard to say goodbye to Spider Man."
Spider-Man 3 opens everywhere on May 4th.
