Will this be another great comic movie or just another movie?
According to Sneak Peek.
“X-Men" film producer Lauren Shuler-Donner is developing DC Comics’ “Metal Men” for Warner Bros Pictures.
“‘Metal Men’ is much more like ‘Men in Black’,” she said.
"It’s miles away from X-Men. It’s lighter and it’s fun. A lot of CGI ..."
The original DC Comics’ “Metal Men” adventures were written/edited by Robert Kanigher and drawn by Ross Andru / Mike Esposito.
Key issues begin with ‘Showcase’ 37 (March-April 1962), “The Flaming Doom”, 38 (May-June 1962) “The Nightmare Menace”, 39 (July-August 1962) “The Deathless Doom”, 40 (September-October 1962) “The Day the Metal Men Melted” and 1 (April-May 1963) “Rain of the Missile Men”.
As detailed in 1962’s “The Flaming Doom” the origin of the characters start with pipe smoking inventor ‘Dr. Will Magnus’ who created the ‘Metal Men’ by giving them life giving personality ‘responsometers’ and an ability to reduce their composition into blobs of molten metals, shape shifting at will into inanimate objects of any size.
‘Platinum’ (Tina) is a compassionate (and passionate) metal woman, ‘Tin’ is shy and mild mannered, ‘Gold’ is the virtuous leader of the group, ‘Iron’ is the strongest, dim-witted ‘Lead’ is the most dependable and ‘Mercury’ is an impulsive hot-head.
