Three pieces of Star Wars collecting news passed my attention this week. Alienware updated their Aurora line of Star Wars computers. Hasbro released some pictures of new “Unleashed” figurine battlepacks, and they released information on three new Star Wars transformers.
“Oh how I love thee, let me slobber on your chassis...” I have thoughts of infidelity when I see the specs that are included with the Alienware Aurora Star Wars Edition. Not only does it sport sleek Star Wars painting on the outside of the chassis (Light Side or Dark Side), the theming of the desktop environment makes me wanna rush out and buy it immediately. Dual (512MB GFORCE 7900) SLI video cards, AMD64 FX-55 proc, 2 GB ram, 250 GB Serial ATA 7200RPM Hard drive, Soundblaster X-FI Elite 7.1, plus more bells and whistles than I can list, makes this a top of the line system and also puts the price up around five grand. They recently updated the system with a 250 GB hard drive option (which I promptly went in and configured) and includes the new tactical war game “Star Wars: Empire at War” plus Hyperspace membership for free in the package. Check their site for details. Now if only I could mortgage my house for this one.
Hasbro released pictures of two more “Unleashed” battle packs that come exclusively form Hoth and are due out this summer. A tower set is featured as well as a snowspeeder with luke and his unfortunate rear gunner Dack.
The last piece of news is my personal favorite. Hasbro has three new Star Wars transformers that they are showcasing. Jango and Slave-I, Emperor Palpatine and the Imperial shuttle, and The clone trooper pilot with the Arc-170 that we see accompanying Obi-Wan in the beginning of Ep. III. They say spring 2006 for release so check your stores because spring is already here.
